Daniela is a food safety and quality assurance (FSQA) professional with nearly five years of experience working in the food production industry. She is an SQF Practitioner and Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI). She has specialized expertise in managing FSQA systems to ensure compliance with state and federal (i.e., FDA, USDA, HACCP) food safety regulations, certification standards, customer requirements, and internal programs.
Prior to joining KTL, Daniela served as a Food Safety Manager for an international food manufacturer. She has experience implementing, managing, and maintaining a variety of food safety programs and certifications, including Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), kosher, halal, organic, and non-GMO project.
Highlights of Daniela’s experience include the following:
- Developing and managing food safety systems, including HACCP plans, policies, procedures, and records.
- Developing food safety programs, including HACCP, sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOPs), and sanitation performance standards.
- Analyzing raw material, work-in-progress, and finished product testing and monitoring data to verify compliance.
- Managing the development and maintenance of quality systems and policies to ensure compliance with GFSI, customer, and regulatory requirements.
- Performing hold and release activities, including retention of product, incident investigations, inventory verification and reconciliation, and disposition of product.
- Leading audits and inspections from customers and regulatory agencies.
- Providing food safety, regulatory, and certification training.
- Managing internal and external quality audits, including corrective and preventive action (CAPA) closeout.
- Identifying biological, chemical, and physical hazards and controls.
Daniela has her Master of Food Safety and Technology (M.A.S) specializing in Industrial Management from Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, IL, and her bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science from SUNY Buffalo State College in Buffalo, NY. She holds the following credentials:
