Rachel is a food safety and quality assurance (FSQA) professional with nearly five years of experience working in the food industry. Her background includes compliance with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), supplier documentation, research and development, and product quality verification. She further has experience working in a laboratory and running analytical tests on food products.

Prior to joining KTL, Rachel served as a Technical Services Specialist and Quality Assurance Technician. Highlights of Rachel’s experience include the following:

  • Reviewing supplier documentation to ensure GFSI compliance.
  • Reviewing and updating nutrition labels.
  • Performing audit reviews for Kosher, Halal, Organic, and Non-GMO certification.
  • Performing analytical testing on oils (e.g., gas chromatography, solid fat content, peroxided value, iodine value, free fatty acid).
  • Conducting research and development for various applications of oils and additives.
  • Verifying product quality standards (e.g., CO2 level, weight, appearance, water activity).
  • Reviewing test results and monitoring product specifications.
  • Monitoring compliance with GMPs.

Rachel has her Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition Studies from University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. In addition, she holds the following credentials:

  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI)
